Judged by reputable and well-established captains of the industry, NPYDA started off with just Malaysia and expanded to 11 other countries in 2015 namely: Philippines, Singapore, Bangladesh, Thailand, Pakistan, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, China, Japan, and Hong Kong. For the year 2016, NPYDA is stepping into a whole new level of competition by expanding its network to 15 countries and relaunching it as the Asia Young Designer Award (AYDA). This year, AYDA will be extended to three additional countries, namely Sri Lanka, India and Taiwan.
AYDA is judged by renowned and well-established professionals in the industry and supported by professional societies and government bodies such as the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), Council of Deans and Heads of Architecture Schools in the Philippines (CODHASP), Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID), and Council of Interior Design Educators (CIDE).
About Asia Young Designer Award 2016
Participants are encouraged to create a design that has something unique to offer design professionals, commercial buyers and the community alike. It has to be a brave new idea that no one has ever seen, which carries commercial value and yet pays careful attention to the well-being and green sustainability of its surrounding community. Our judges are looking for a well thought out design that is both phenomenal and useful, executed in top-notch quality to match.
Be Bold. Be Free. Be You is the theme for this year’s competition.
Be Bold: Take on challenges and concepts that are out of the ordinary, break out from conventional ways.
Be Free : There is nothing for you to lose, think beyond conservativeness and deliver ideas without boundaries
Be You: AYDA is a platform that rewards expressions of individuality. Unleash your creativity and let us nurture it together.
